The Benefits of U-Protein

Not sure what the fuss is all about when it comes to protein? Why everyone says it’s so important to a healthy diet?
Actually, those people are right – everyone needs protein on a daily basis, and it plays an important role as you work toward your weight loss goals. Made up of essential and non-essential amino acids – the “building blocks” for healthy bodies – protein has a number of different roles to play:

• It restores body cells
• It builds and repairs muscles and bones
• It provides energy
• It controls many of the important processes in the body related to metabolism

The body is able to produce non-essential amino acids, but it can’t create essential amino acids on its own. The only way to get them is by eating high-quality protein foods. But not all protein-based foods are created equal. In fact, they can vary in many ways:

• The number and quantity of essential amino acids they contain
• Their digestion and absorption rates
• Their fat content
• Taste
• Purity

Regularly, healthy diets should include high-quality, low-fat sources of protein. Whey protein is a very high-quality complete protein, with rich amounts of essential amino acids. Whey protein isolate is the purest form of protein, which is why it’s absorbed so quickly and efficiently into the body. That’s why U Weight Loss makes U-Protein, our very own whey protein isolate and one of the cornerstones of the U Weight Loss program.

But calories count too – you want to make sure that you get the most benefit from the calories you consume. Compared to other proteins, on a gram-to-gram basis, U-Protein delivers the most essential amino acids to the body without the fat or cholesterol.

So try to incorporate a healthy diet into your lifestyle – one that includes a variety of protein foods. You’ll achieve the most results while on your weight loss journey. And U Weight Loss will help you to reach your goals by making our U-Protein whey protein an important part of your healthy lifestyle. (And this month, save on U-Protein by taking advantage of our Build Up to the Holidays Sale – available only from November 21 to 30!)

Looking for fun and easy ways to incorporate more protein into your diet? U- Protein can be easily added to smoothies, oatmeal or yogurt, and can be used to make delicious desserts too. Try out this month’s scrumptious Dreamy Desserts recipes to see for yourself!

This is The Best Protein Powder, (and I have tried many…) U Protein does not have a chalky taste nor does it leave a scummy film in your mouth. I wake up looking forward to having a smoothie sometime throughout my day! It is the perfect balance of vanila and sweetness… and because the Whey protein isolate is the purest form of protein its perfect after a work out for you muscles.

I will have to agree with Nicole 100%. U Protein is the best protein powder I’ve ever used….by a long shot!! In fact, it’s the only I’ve tried that is not at all chalky! :D

My wife and I are planning on booking an appointment soon at one of your clinics . Trouble is my wife has a few allergies and intolerances that have prevented her from taking supplements and protien powders. Namely she is lactose intolerant and allergic to eggs and soy (also has an anafilactic allergy to apples and allergies to most north american fruits and all nuts except peanuts). Do you have any type of protien supplement that would be able to suit her?

    • Susan Walker, ND

      Hello Kareem,

Thank you for your interest in the U Weight Loss program.
Booking an appointment at the clinic is your first step towards a personalized weight loss plan for you and your wife. During you first appointment, you will both receive a FREE Healthy Weight Analysis which includes a thorough review of your health history, including any allergies. Upon the completion of the full analysis, our Health Coaches will be able to determine what nutritional supplements are optimal and safe for your wife to take. The U Weight Loss program can also be further customized for you and your wife with guidance on recipes and products that will be ideal for her to reach her weight loss goals, while taking her allergies into account.

I hope this helps and wish you best of success in reaching you weight loss and health goals!

      Yours in health,
      Susan Walker, ND

    Is this like Ideal Protein?

    • Susan Walker, ND

      Hi Marc,

U Weight Loss emphasizes eating balanced meals of carbohydrates, fats and protein in order to support proper blood sugar regulation and insulin levels to assist with appetite control, reduce cravings, regulate metabolism and enhance fat loss. The nutrition portion of the program consists of thousands of delicious recipes made from real food. The program is NOT based on prepackaged foods (as is the case with the Ideal Protein program) but on real food to enable clients to eat properly for life. Additionally, clients are offered support and education on healthy eating, behaviour modification and exercise from the Health Coaches at the clinic. Further support is available from the U Weight Loss health professionals, if required. Results are also ensured though nutritional supplementation with the Intelligent Nutraceuticals™ supplements and vitamins, formulated to accelerate weight loss, ensure optimal nutrition and improve overall health.

I hope this helps and invite you to visit your local clinic near to learn more about the program and how it can possibly benefit you.

      Yours in health,
      Susan Walker, ND

  5. Amanda

I have tried your whey protein from a friend who has joined U Weight loss and I love it. I was just wondering, people who are not members of U weight loss, can we buy the U protein only?

    • U Weight Loss

      Hi Amanda,
We are glad to hear that you like our protein powder! And absolutely, all Nutraceuticals except for U-Loss are available for purchase by non-members. Please contact your local clinic and they will gladly assist you with your purchase and any other questions you may have.

  6. O. Turcotte

Although I am not a member, I regularly purchase your protein powder to make your protein bar recipe that includes almond butter. I have unfortunately misplaced this recipe – could you forward it to my email address?

  7. Patricia Schneider

I am a new member. I am unsure how much of the protein powder to use. For example, tomorrow it says to put 8 gm in my yogurt … how many scoops is that?

    Thank you.

    • Jennifer Mansell, RNCP, ROHP

      Hi Patricia,
Each scoop is roughly 30g so just under 1/3 of a scoop would be approximately 8 grams.
Ideally we recommend weighing out the right amount, however, estimating works in this case since we know how many grams are found in each scoop.
      I hope this helps! :)

  8. Janet J

I just can not believe how easy this program is and I have to say I LOVE the Uprotien powder!! I look forward to having them everyday! Because the program has everything balanced, unlike other protein mixes, I am not hungry at all even when it comes time for my next meal!!! Thank you U Weight Loss….just a note, my health seems to be greatly improving, and my physician is considering lowering or even taking me off my diabetes 2 medications as my glucose blood levels have been reduced so much while on this plan after only loosing 11 1/2pounds in 3 weeks!!!

    • U Weight Loss

We are so happy to hear that you are enjoying the program and seeing such great improvements in your health, Janet! Keep up with the great progress and attitude! We are so proud of you. :)
